Alfred Hitchcock's  Rear Window features a scene in which the camera pans across a neighborhood to show the characters that live there. In this pan and each time it is repeated, Hitchcock shows the viewer what he wants them to see and let's them know what he wants them to know about the plot. The sound and visuals add to this, adding more detail regarding each character and their influence on the plot. This analysis from YouTube goes in depth with examples regarding the film and how Hitchcock works to create suspense in the film. I enjoyed the Creator's examples regarding how the audience would change their viewpoint as the plot progresses. Personally after watching the film, I enjoyed Hitchcock's concept of putting the viewer in Jeff's shoes and only allowing them to see what he sees through the rear window.

A Few Sounds that I heard were: An Alarm Clock A Train Horn A Running Sink Talkative children The Post War period of Film: Following World War II, Films started to have a darker tone. Various actors, directors, and others who worked in the film industry were blacklisted as they were feared to be communists. Around this time various genres of film started to emerge such as Spy, Horror, and Western Films. Also at this time, color film was becoming the common way to make films in. While films were advancing at this time, Television was starting to be introduced to houses all across America.

Throughout O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Coen brothers included various elements in the film that drew inspiration from Homer's The Odyssey . The following are a few of these elements and characters from O Brother, Where Art Thou?  that are meant to reference Homer's The Odyssey . The Sirens In The Odyssey , Sirens are seductive creatures who try to tempt the main character of Odysseus into coming with them. To counteract this, Odysseus fills his ears with beeswax and is bound to the mast of his ship as instructed to him by Circe. In O Brother, Where Art Thou? , the Sirens act like they do in Homer's poem. They're used in the plot as a way to tempt our main characters. However unlike Odysseus in The Odyssey , Elmer, Delmar, and Pete do nothing to protect themselves from the Siren's temptations and allow themselves to be thrown off their path. The use of montage allows the director to portray a series of events over a sequence of time. Their intent is to illustrate the point that they are trying to make in a quick and efficient fashion. The effect that this could have on the audience is allowing them to learn or experience a portion of the film quickly. An example would be watching a group of characters quickly resolve a problem rather than watching them accomplish it in normal time.

Resolution and Aspect Ratio are both terms that can be used to describe a video. A video's resolution is determined by the amount of pixels are lined up to make up the video. An example would be how 1080p video is 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels. A video's aspect ratio is the ratio between the video's height and width. I feel that time management and planning were our main strengths when doing this project. Having a plan and sticking to it allowed us to finish our project very efficiently and in a timely manor. If we were to do this again I would try to have all members of the group actively involved most of the time. This is because during the process of filming there were a few instances in which some group members had nothing to do or chose not to cooperate.

I feel that the composition of our shots is what we had done best. There were some scenes that looked really cool with how we decided to compose them. However I feel that our editing is a close second. The critique from classmates said that our tone and mood fit well with the acting. I feel that we could improve our acting and our costumes. The acting was  mediocre  it wasn't completely terrible but it could've been better. Costumes from scene to scene were inconsistent and we could've made sure they seemed more consistent than they were. When it comes to strengths I feel that my camera work was what I did best. To improve camera work I think I could find more creative ways to use the camera, making it seem a little bit better. A weakness that we had was not having a complete plan. Most scenes that we shot we didn't plan out a location for so I feel if we did this the entire process would've been smoother.
